Nancy Roob is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation. An 13-year veteran of the Foundation, she held a number of key posts before being named President in June 2005. Prior to her appointment, Roob had been vice president and chief operating officer, responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s day-to-day grantmaking activities. Her key duties included overseeing the team responsible for identifying, selecting, and recommending major multi-year investments in high-performing youth-serving organizations across the United States.

Before that, Roob played a key role in helping the Foundation develop and implement the Foundation’s current grantmaking strategy, which aims to improve the life prospects of young people from low-income backgrounds by helping organizations that work with these youth improve and expand their services.

During her first years at the Foundation, Roob developed its Program for New York Neighborhoods, an initiative that launched community-building and neighborhood-stabilization projects in the South Bronx and Central Harlem. Before joining the Foundation in 1994, she worked for the Boston Persistent Poverty Project, a program of the Rockefeller and Boston Foundations; the Fund for the Homeless, a project of the Boston Foundation; and the Child Care Resource and Referral Center in Boston.

Roob holds a master's degree in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
